Paint a tray with Accent

Ensure you have the correct equipment
Having the right tools on hand makes any painting job easier.
Buy tools as and when you need them and build up your kit gradually.
You will need:
- P180 or P240 grit sandpaper & block
- Cloth
- Drop sheet
- Paint brush
- Accent Multi Prep Water Based (if required)
- Accent Small Projects x 2 colours
1. Sand
To start, lay down the drop sheet and lightly sand the tray until you have a smooth, matt surface. Using the cloth, carefully wipe the tray down and allow it to dry.
2. Prime
If the surface of your tray is bare, prime the front of it with Accent Multi Prep Water Based. Allow the tray to dry for 30 minutes. When it is touch dry, turn the tray over and apply the primer to the back. Let the tray dry for two hours. If your tray has been painted previously, you can skip this step.
3. Paint Colour A
Now it’s time to paint. Paint the inside of the tray with your first Accent Small Projects colour. Allow two hours to dry, gently sand the interior surface and apply a second coat of paint before letting the tray dry.
4. Paint Colour B
Next, turn the tray over and paint the sides and the bottom with your second Accent Small Projects colour. Repeat with a second coat when dry.
